The Commercial Vehicle Show is Britain’s biggest automotive trade event, one which we at Outbound Automotive attend every year. We are proud members of the Road Haulage Association (RHA) a show partner, who together with The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) and the Institute of Road Transport Engineers (IRTE) are the industry’s leading representative bodies who organise this fantastic show.
As regular visitor’s to the CV show for a number of years, walking around the halls, viewing all the new products, technology and services that are on offer as well as talking to many people on various stands, it is instantly noticeable how much has evolved since the previous show just twelve month’s ago. The road transport sector is changing. And fast.
The show offers a full programme of free-to-attend seminars over all three days, housed in the Road Ahead Theatre, with many very interesting and informative subjects being addressed including Decarbonising your HGV Fleet, Safety, Productivity and Profit, as well as Introducing Zero Emission Vans to your Fleet, along with top keynote speakers from the industry. These are all important subjects, along with many others, that affects everybody across our industry, and it is really good to see the sector working together for it’s future success and sustainability.
There is so much to see at the CV Show, which is attended by thousands of company directors, engineers and fleet operators who descend on the NEC not only to see the latest trucks, trailers, and vans. There are many exhibitors including manufacturers and suppliers showcasing their new products, components and services including technology, software, hardware, equipment and much, much more all under one roof with the added benefit of having many industry experts on hand, able to answer any questions with first class knowledge and advice.
One company we visited who were showcasing their new products were CANOO, an American mobility company specialising in electric vehicles. Currently available in the US, their four strong line-up is due to arrive here in the UK in 2025.
Outbound Automotive Director, Nick Murton: “The CV Show is a must-attend event. For a business such as ours, it gives us the perfect opportunity to network and to meet so many great people within the industry. The Road Haulage Association are a show partner, and being a member it is always nice to be able to meet up with the team at the RHA face to face, rather than over email which is usually the case due to distance”
“The Road Haulage Association celebrate 80 years of operation in 2024, and although the event generally shows attendees how the industry has evolved and continues to do so at pace, it was really lovely to see some beautifully restored old lorries from days gone by at the show”
The 2025 CV Show will run from 29 April – 1 May at the NEC Birmingham
